The Lviv region is a picturesque area and an attractive tourist destination. This region has significant potential due to its proximity to borders with other countries, convenient transportation connections, rich historical and cultural heritage, unique nature, and the presence of professionals and creative environments. The combination of these factors makes traveling to the Lviv region unforgettable. Ideal and most convenient, if the trip is by a car available for rent in Lviv https://ukr-prokat.com/orenda-avto/lviv.

One of the options for such a trip is presented below.

First Day: Active recreation, Castles, and Space

If you're looking for an exciting trip, consider starting your journey in Vynnyky, a town located near Lviv. This area has a developed infrastructure, such as a lake and a local history museum with valuable exhibits. Make sure to stop at "Vynnykivske Lake" from where you can take a walk to Chortovi Skeli ( Devil's rock). The unusual name of the rocks catches the attention and produces legends about devils carrying something somewhere. In reality, this location had significant defensive and strategic importance in ancient times.

If you are fascinated by the atmosphere of antiquity, you should visit the Svirzh Castle. Although this historical landmark has only recently become available for visitation, its history dates back to the 15th century. The fortress has often been used as a location for filming movies and art events.

Next to the Svirzh Castle is located the Univ Lavra, one of the oldest monasteries in Ukraine. For those who enjoy weaving, a visit to the museum in Glynany is a must.

The next stop is Zolochiv. The Zolochiv Castle is a bright example of a bastion-type fortress, and it's especially charming because of the Chinese Palace, which was popular in the 17th-18th centuries. There's also a restaurant called "Ravelin" , at the entrance of the castle, where you can have lunch.

On the road from Zolochiv to Pidhirtsy, it is impossible not to notice two huge antennas. This is the Center for Space Research and Communications of the National Center for Space Research, which opened in the 1970s. After Ukraine declared its independence, the functions of the Center slightly changed, but it is still an important means of communication with the world.

The next stop is Pidhirtsi. You can recognize the magnificent palace, which belonged to the Koniecpolski and then to the Rzewuski families, in several famous films. It is worth seeing the palace in person - the impressions are unforgettable. There also is an ancient temple near the palace. Moreover, the surrounding landscapes are stunning.

Have you ever seen black pottery? It is made in the village of Havarechchyna, which is near Pidhirtsi. It is worth visiting this area and discovering all the secrets of the craftsmen.

The first day of the trip should be completed in a unique location - one of the oldest castles in Ukraine: the Olesko Castle. Located at an important crossroads, the Olesko Castle is an ancient structure that has been well-preserved. It was owned by the most influential noble families such as Zhovkivsky, Danylovychi, Sobieski, Rzewuski, and others. Moreover, the king of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Jan III Sobieski, was born in this castle. Today, the castle is a branch of the Lviv National Art Gallery and contains many authentic exhibits. The castle has also been used as a filming location for several movies.

Second Day. Raccoons, Saints in Embroidered Shirts, and Descendants of Tarpan

The itinerary of the first day of the road trip was focused on exploring historical and cultural sites of the region, while the second day will be dedicated to experiencing nature.

Your first stop should be "The Raccoon Estate". This exceptional and distinctive place is a house for raccoons, ostriches, and other exotic and domestic animals. This location offers opportunities for an active vacation or to savor some delicious food. Children will also find plenty of activities to engage in while visiting "The Raccoon Estate".

Visiting Zhovkva will remind you of the first day of the trip. Despite its small size, this town is famous for its monuments, including wooden Christian shrines, a castle, a synagogue, and a town hall that you can climb. One of the local churches even features saints and historical figures in embroidered shirts. Zhovkva is often called a perfect city, but why? Come and find out for yourself!

Near Zhovkva lies the Krekhiv Monastery, a quiet and cozy location that allows you to break away from the chaos of daily life and genuinely enjoy your vacation. Moreover, this place offers a unique opportunity for nature lovers as there is a green area, a spring, a cave, and even a unique trail located close to the monastery. This area falls within the boundaries of the Yavoriv National Nature Park, an incredible location where you can spot wild horse descendants, tarpans, long-tailed owls, and other wildlife.

On the way to Lviv, you can visit Stradch or Obroshyne. The first location is an area with a handcrafted cave with cells and passages. The length of the passages reaches up to three hundred meters. In the village of Obroshyne, which is near Lviv, there is a former residence of the Roman Catholic archbishops, built in the 18th century. A zoo and an arboretum are also nearby. You can also visit a bear shelter called "Domazhyr". This is a rehabilitation center where rescued animals live in conditions as close to nature as possible .There you can observe the animals and also sign up for workshops to spend time with benefits.
