Ivan Franko Lviv National University
It is the oldest higher educational institution in the city.
Today, Lviv National University has 19 faculties, a Pedagogical College, and an Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Training.
And LNU museums are among the oldest university museums in Europe and have some scientifically important collections: an observatory, a botanical garden, a scientific library, etc.

Lviv Polytechnic National University
It is the oldest technical institution of higher education in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
The University consists of 16 institutes, more than 100 departments, 9 separate educational institutions, public organizations and general divisions.
Lviv Polytechnic has intensively developed international scientific, technical and educational cooperation with foreign universities, scientific institutions and companies. The exchange of students and teachers with foreign partners has been established.

Ukrainian Catholic University
The only Catholic university from Poland to Japan inherited and continues the scientific activity of the Greek Catholic Theological Academy, which was created in 1928-1929 in Lviv by Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi.
The Ukrainian Catholic University is an academic community that lives by the Eastern Christian tradition. It has six faculties (Faculty of Philosophy and Theology, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Lviv Business School of UCU).
And the publishing house of the Ukrainian Catholic University specializes in publishing scientific, popular science and journalistic literature of a humanitarian profile (theology, history, philosophy, etc.).

Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University

Trains specialists in the following fields: medicine, stomatology and pharmacy.
According to the Scopus international database, the university ranks first among the medical universities in Ukraine. It has 6 faculties, a Medical College and 77 departments.
The Society of Young Scientists and Specialists operates at LNMU. In addition, there is also a botanical garden. It is the only specialized medicinal garden in Ukraine, which is part of the nature reserve fund.

Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Academy of Music
The oldest music institution of higher education in Ukraine and one of the oldest in Europe
The Academy has the following faculties: piano; orchestra - with sections for violin, string (viola, cello, double bass, harp), wind (wooden, brass) and percussion instruments of the symphony orchestra; as well as folk instruments; conductor's — with departments of choral and opera-symphonic conducting; vocal; theory-composition school with departments of musicology and composition.
The Academy has a library, an opera studio, and a problem research laboratory of musical ethnology.

Lviv National Academy of Arts
State higher educational institution that trains specialists in fine, decorative and applied, monumental and sacred art, design, restoration, art history, cultural studies, and management of socio-cultural activities. The structure of the Academy includes 5 educational faculties and 19 departments.
An Art Lyceum was also founded at the Аcademy. In addition, it is possible to stay in a student dormitory.

Ukrainian Academy of Printing
Autonomous higher educational institution in Ukraine trains specialists in information, media technologies and printing. The structure of the academy includes 5 faculties, 20 departments and a polygraphic college.
There is also a new structural division — the Ukrainian Academy of Typography, which edits, reproduces, organizes manuscript reviews and distribution, participates in book fairs and exhibitions, and sends out mandatory copies.

An educational institution in Ukraine that trains specialists in the field of human security.
It is the first educational institution in Ukraine that is a member of the European Fire Service College's Association (EFSCA). The university includes 4 institutes and 22 departments.

Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy
It is one of the leading educational institutions in the system of military education of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It is engaged in the training of officers of the ground forces.
The Academy has 4 faculties: "Combat Use of Troops", "Missile Troops and Artillery", "General Military Faculty", and "Training of Combat (Operational) Support Specialists", where 26 specialities are trained.
It has its military-historical museum, a military college for non-commissioned officers, a library, scientific centres and a dormitory for students.

Stepan Gzhytskyi Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies
It is the oldest higher educational institution of this type in Ukraine and Europe.
The university has five faculties with a detailed educational and technical base: the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Faculty of Biological Technology, the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, the Faculty of Economics and Management, and the Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene, Ecology and Law.
The university offers a wide range of specialities, and there are educational buildings, dormitories, areas for active recreation, a sports complex, the temple of the Holy Trinity, and mycological-botanical and zoological museums.
