In celebration of Valentine’s Day, let’s take a stroll through Lviv’s cozy streets and discover the city’s very own Romeo and Juliet, the love stories of three kings, and, of course, what Casanova was doing in Lviv. We’ll talk about famous (and lesser-known) Lviv residents, including Ivan Franko, Solomiya Krushelnytska, and even Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky!

Along the way, we’ll warm up in the Italian Courtyard, where you’ll hear one of the most romantic royal love stories. And, of course, we’ll also talk about Saint Valentine—the inspiration behind this holiday of love.

Locations: Church of St. John the Baptist – built by Lev Danylovych for Constance, where he proposed to her.
Korniakt House-built for Konstanty Korniakt, where he proposed to Anna Dzieduszycka.
Rynok Square – in front of the Town Hall, where Lviv’s Catholic weddings were celebrated from 1383 to 1789.
City Theatre (now School No. 62) on Teatralna Street – where landowners and merchants made contracts in the first half of the 19th century, and their children often met and married.

"Romantic Cruise with a Scent of Exoticism"

Do you know where you can find the largest number of exotic images? Winged dogs, ships, dragons, a pineapple, a horseshoe, a firebird, an Eastern sage, a Native American, a peacock, a cart, minerals, and even an oil rig… You can see all this and more on one of Lviv’s most exotic and romantic streets—Pekarska. Three magnificent palaces have been preserved here, and once upon a time, there were three lakes. Even its very name evokes romance, and many love stories are tied to this area.

"Romantic Fairy Tale on Tulip Street"

In Lviv, romance, love, incredible twists, and the whims of fate await at every turn... We will stroll through a small neighborhood along three tiny streets where the palace of Count Fredro once stood, the grandfather of Andrey Sheptytsky. The story of his love not only inspired the author of "Coffee with Cardamom" but also influenced the lives of many prominent figures of that time. Interestingly, all of them are somehow connected to Fredro Street!

У першій частині ми пройдемося романтичною історією міста, яка захопить період до 18 століття і дізнаємося, чому львівʼянки не вподобали героя-коханця Казанову; кохання якого короля до львівʼянки лягло в основу відомої пісні; як і чому у Львові велися війни за наречених.
Поміркуємо, чому Ромео та Джульєтта могли бути львівʼянами.
Дізнаємося, кому у Львові розбила серце відома авантюристка Софія Потоцька. Поговоримо про львівські лупанарії і багато іншого.

У другій частині екскурсії ми пройдемося романтичними історіями міста, які захоплять період 19-20 ст. і дізнаємося: як і де знайомилися львівʼяни; чи мали шанс на щастя змішані шлюби; який знаний польський письменник та уродженець Львова був позашлюбним сином греко-католицького священника, професора Львівського університету; хто з видатних галичан прожив ціле життя з кулею під серцем після невдалої спроби самогубства.
Чому Львів можна вважати початком зародження поняття «мазохізму».
Який видатний львівʼянин отримав відкоша від дівчини через руді вуса і багато інших цікавих історій…
