The exhibition features 11 selected works united by a common idea. Girls in protective masks came to my paintings together with the arrival of the coronavirus epidemic in the world in the spring of 2020. Before that, I had been developing the cycle UKRAINIAN VENICE for several years - a separate "carnival" theme, where the MASK is the defining stylistic essence. Of course, not suspecting anything about the new threat of the XXI century.
I was quite eerily aware of such coincidences post-factum, but I could not change the course of events. When the current war began and I was putting the paintings in a safe place, these EYES of the GIRLS told me that they are able not only to withstand the pain and suffering from the covid epidemic, but also to courageously resist the threat of physical and spiritual destruction from the epidemic, or rather - the pandemic of racism. Such a long-familiar phenomenon to Ukrainians. Thus, new characters of my painting resistance appeared. This is the so-called "military unit" of the ARDEKOH cycle, some works of which this year have already visited foreign exhibitions of Ukrainian art.
