From December 18 to January 19, the Klymentii Sheptytskyi Museum of Folk Architecture and Life will host an exhibition of Taras Keb's "Angels are seen here".
The artist dedicated the works to his grandmother Tekla and grandfather Myrko.
We quote the artist: "I would like each of us to feel emotions of peace and security from contemplation of these painted stories - as in a carefree childhood... Let's imagine a quiet cosy room where grandparents sit near a warm stove by candlelight and tell their grandchildren fascinating stories about magical creatures with wings. They can fly high in the sky, and make fine rain and soft-pawed snow. They play, chasing the winds in the fields.
They help trees to grow. In winter they look into our windows and carol loudly. And every day they just take care of us. Angels for me are creatures that have been with me all my life, since the first stories of my grandparents. These stories and teachings warm me and fascinate me to this day, and those conversations and evenings will forever remain a sense of security and understanding that I am under the protection of someone much bigger than myself."
Taras Keb - a Lviv artist, who works in the field of painting, graphics, decorative and applied arts, using the style of primitive, art brut, and native. Author of several personal exhibitions, and participant in numerous collective exhibition projects, competitions and workshops in Ukraine and abroad. The main themes of his works are myth and mythology, the inner world of the self-taught artist, his personality and emotions, the processes of creation, the relationship between the artist and society, etc. He is engaged in the study of primitive art and naïve art - both Ukrainian and world.
