Serhii Yakunin is a Ukrainian artist who works in the genres of installation, sculpture, photography, video and land art.
He was born in 1954 in Lviv. 1973-1977 - studied at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. He lives in Lviv.
Serhii Yakunin creates his art in and from space, and often looks for the material for his work directly on the spot. Stone, water, sand, forest or earth. Geometric lines or dots, as abstract ideas that fill the space and actually create it - they are explored by the artist.
He works in the field of site-specific art. His works are usually material and temporary, which exist only within the symposium or plein air. Works are born out of certain situations that the environment offers.
