An exhibition dedicated to the fashion of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries has opened in Lviv. The geographical scope of the exhibition covers mainly the territory of Galicia, primarily Lviv, first as part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and later of the Habsburg Empire, in the period of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The exposition features authentic examples of nineteenth-century costumes. Most of these items were donated to the Museum in the interwar period by the famous Lviv collector Helena Dombchanska (1863-1956). Despite being somewhat fragmentary, this collection presents characteristic elements of both everyday and more ceremonial costumes of the time.
