Exhibition of paintings by Petro Sypniak "Codes of the native land"

"In every human soul there is a notion of a native land that is embedded in genetic codes. This self-identification occurs in the subconscious from the feeling of a parental home, the smell of freshly baked bread, the breath of wind in a clean field... And wherever a Ukrainian is, he or she always remains a carrier of the traditions, history, and culture of his or her native land and people," the Mykhajlo Hrushevsky Museum says. Is the horde's fierce hatred capable of tearing out the roots, the codes, the images and symbols that we have understood since childhood? All his life Petro Sypniak has been painting these codes, which are so near and dear to his heart, which he taps into like a living spring, and most of them he draws from his native village. It seems that he has painted the same bush dozens, maybe hundreds of times, or a view from the mountain to his parents' yard, church, village... All his life, Petro Sypniak has been painting these codes that are so near and dear to his heart, and most of them he draws from his native village in Prykarpattia. His work is multifaceted in terms of genre, consisting of thematic cycles and series: landscapes, portraits, still lifes, sketches, etc. The artist's oeuvre includes several thousand works. The exhibition presents 24 picturesque landscapes, which the artist has been working on for many years and which reflect the beauty of Ukraine!
