This story happened 100 years ago. Or maybe yesterday?
Six young soldiers not of their own free will found themselves in a dynamic and multilayered "game" of life against death. They are 20-year-old boys, soldiers of the First World War, the "lost generation". They were torn from their usual life and thrown into the bloody mud of war... Once they were boys who learned to live and think. Now they had to get used to the trenches and death. But despite everything, they retained their humanity, ability to make friends and dreams of ordinary peaceful life.
The drama "ON THE WESTERN FRONT WITHOUT CHANGE" is a story about the desperate struggle of the light of dreams, longing and hope with the pervasive, unrelenting and inevitable darkness of nothingness. When every minute can be the last, you, like that sprout, tirelessly make your way through the blood-stained ground, despite the endless blows of soldiers' boots.
This is an Ode to all soldiers and veterans who at different times and TODAY give themselves to the war for the right to love... to dream... to live!
