We invite you to the play "The Game"
In the prologue to the play "Family Stories", based on which the play "The Game" was staged, playwright Biljana Srbljanovic writes: "The children in this play are not orphans, neither in character nor in everyday life. They are citizens of a destroyed country."
The plot tells about the relationship of four children, which is manifested in their game, which in turn resonates with real life. Through the form of children's play, the director breaks the silence around uncomfortable topics, talking about the problems of modern upbringing.
We do not even think that children are a reflection of ourselves in the past. Even less do we think that their behaviour is a copy of everything we do every day? So the play "The Game" shows how children, deciding to play, show all our shortcomings.
With childlike spontaneity, the characters reproduce everything they see around them. They play us. It is us, adults - cruel, greedy, indifferent, cowardly people. This is how we made this world. Each scene is full of surprise, joy, desire to escape, distorted reality, deliberate exaggeration, sometimes shocking, sometimes disgust and sadness from the realization that children can and can repeat only what we, adults, present to them.
