The lecture will be delivered by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of History, Museology and Cultural Heritage of Lviv Polytechnic National University, an employee of the Lviv Historical Museum, Head of the Archaeological Expedition Sviatoslav Terskyi.
The ancient land of the modern Lviv region hides many secrets of the past. One of the historically important micro-regions of the region is the eastern outskirts of Lviv, where in the Middle Ages there was an important communication artery connecting Lviv with the Black Sea ports. Known as the Tatar Way or Hlynianskyi Way (in the vicinity of our city), this road originated in much earlier times.
Its ancient history was revealed by archaeological excavations recently conducted by a joint archaeological expedition of the Lviv Historical Museum and the Department of History, Museology and Cultural Heritage of Lviv Polytechnic National University with the assistance of the newly established Historical and Local History Museum of the village of Slovita.
