Johannes Brahms' legendary cycle "Hungarian Dances" in orchestral sound on the stage of the Lviv Organ Hall
The creation of the world-famous pieces of the German composer Johannes Brahms was inspired by meeting and communicating with the violinist Ede Remenyi, who made Europe fall in love with the sound of Gypsy and Hungarian melodies with his passionate playing. Brahms imprinted his unique flavor in the four notebooks of "Hungarian Dances" (21 numbers in total) for piano four hands. But the success of this music was so great that over time many instruments appeared, thanks to which the unstoppable chardash sounded from dozens of musical scenes. The virtuosic translation for violin and piano was made by Brahms's good friend, the German violinist and composer of Hungarian origin, Josef Joachim. And it is difficult to count the huge number of temperamental orchestral versions of "Dances". By the way, several numbers were orchestrated by Johannes Brahms himself.
