Sun's Pearls showcases 15 piano sonatas by the Italian Baroque composer Domenico Scarlatti.
These musical "moments" by Domenico Scarlatti (referred to modestly by the composer himself as "exercises") can rightfully be called gems of Baroque keyboard art. With their aesthetics, content, and expression of musical thought, this music remains relevant to us today, perhaps even more so than in its own time.
With its naivety, purity, and sincerity, this music invites and beckons us—restless and troubled—to rediscover that integral and momentarily lost essence that exists within the pristine nature itself.
It speaks to us with a tone of immediacy and simplicity. A tone of honesty and humanity.
Filled with the expressiveness of life, it delicately touches the Life within us.
