A genre mystery-detective story set against the backdrop of (inter)war Lviv. A large multinational city that lives its own life: people are born, die, love, quarrel and make peace here. Among the other residents are four friends: a Ukrainian, a Pole, a German, and a Jew.

Vynnychuk's trademark vulgar and absurdist humour, in which a funeral home becomes a platform for stand-up sales of eternal life, provokes philosophical reflections. The violin melody of "Tango" sticks in your head and starts to echo from every corner of your subconscious.
