Solo performance based on the historical chronicle of William Shakespeare's "Richard III". Director - Irina Volitska. Performer - Lydia Danylychuk. Shakespeare's extensive historical canvas, "anatomy of power obsession" based on the material of the final stage of the War of the Roses in England and the last ruler of this war - Richard III Plantagenet - all concentrated here in a single main character.
Only the story of this Richard begins with the completion of the story of Shakespeare's Richard. The viewer is given the freedom to decide where and when the action takes place: whether it is on the last night before his death or perhaps somewhere out of time, where eternal punishment exists for committed crimes and eternal damnation for repeating them over and over again.
This production is a rare case even in world theater, where a woman plays Richard III (women playing Hamlet is still a more common occurrence - since the times of Sarah Bernhardt and Asta Nielsen). In the 10 years since its premiere, the solo performance has already won awards at festivals in Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Armenia, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and the United Arab Emirates.
