The play "The Witch of Konotop" is not a pure comedy, it is a fairy tale for adults with a very cruel ending.
There is no rain in Konotop, the beautiful Olena threw pumpkins to the centurion Mykyta Zabrioha, the clerk Pistriak wants power, and the Konotop hundred has to go on a hike. All problems, as you know, are caused by women. They are witches! There is only one way out - "We must drown witches! Because our ancestors said: a real witch will never drown."
