The Frankivsk Drama Theater will perform the play "Hutsul Wedding" on the stage of the Lviv National Theater named after M. Zankovetska. According to the director and general director of the theater Rostyslav Derzhypilsky, this is a continuation of the Christmas production "Carols and carols... From everlasting to everlasting...". The play is based on the works of Stanislav Vincenz and ethnographic research of Volodymyr Shukhevych.
On stage, the actors will recreate the Hutsul wedding ceremony of the XIX century. To create the performance, the actors also went on an expedition. Rehearsals took place in Krasnoillia in the Hutsul region, where Hnat Khotkevych once created a theater. In life, Hutsuls can celebrate a wedding for almost a month - they have so many festive rites. The theater could barely fit the unique event into a four-hour performance - from the engagement to the celebration itself.
