In the Lviv Puppet Theater will present the performance "Two Beauties Go North".
The Lviv Academic Regional Puppet Theater will host a performance of Two Beauties Go North in Lviv based on the work of French playwright Pierre Nott. It is difficult and simple at the same time to talk about this play. It seems to be simple. Two sisters, the elderly Annette and Bernadette, have just experienced the loss of their mother. They decide to bury the urn with her ashes next to their father. But where is that father buried?
They only know that he is somewhere in the north. But no old man's crying and sighing. Then the events unfold in the spirit of Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino. Two women steal a bus and drive it to different cemeteries. At the same time, they have touching and brutal conversations, reminisce, swear, envy each other, cry, laugh, dance, forgive, meet random men, live to the fullest and do not even stop at the cemetery.
Does all this really happen in a puppet theatre? A metaphor, a provocation, a theatre of the absurd. A lifelong journey, at the end of which everyone will find bright memory and love, not the darkness of oblivion, as it sometimes seems.
