  • Concerts

Listen to an exclusive symphonic program performed by the Luhansk Symphony Orchestra and an old friend of Ukraine, Swedish conductor Daniel Hansson.

Music of Swedish legends and fairy tales, the world of magical creatures and extraordinary landscapes. Fantastic stories embodied by Swedish composers in symphonic music will come to life in Lviv Organ Hall this evening. Performed by the Luhansk Symphony Orchestra and a long-time friend of Ukraine, Swedish conductor Daniel Hansson, you will hear an exclusive symphonic program that will impress even the most demanding "music gourmets".

"Verlaam Rhapsody" was written by Swedish composer Kurt Atterberg as a tribute to the most famous Swedish writer Selma Lagerlöf - the author of the fairy tale "Nils Holgersson's Wonderful Journey through Sweden" and the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

"Swedish Rhapsody" by Hugo Alfvén is a musical dream of a little shepherdess about fairy creatures, trolls and life in the mountains.

The Symphonic Variations by Gunnar de Frumery are dedicated to another creature of Swedish folklore - the water-boy Neken, who can lure a person into a river and drown him with his devilish violin playing.
