The Lviv Municipal Choir "Homin" will perform two collections of liedertafels composed by Mykhailo Verbytskyi in the 1860s of the nineteenth century.
"Liedertafel" literally translates from German as "song at the table". In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in Galicia, Liedertafel was the name of a men's society of choral singing lovers. Galician lidertafel became one of the phenomena of the choral history of Ukraine.
The Lviv Municipal Choir "Homin" will perform two collections of liedertafels composed by Mykhailo Verbytsky in the 1860s of the nineteenth century. The first one, in particular, includes the song "Ukraine has not yet died", with lyrics by Pavlo Chubynsky, which was destined to become the Anthem of Ukraine.
