On January 20 at 7 pm, the Lviv Organ Hall will host a concert "Lyudkevich's solos".

Lyudkevich is an iconic figure in the history of Ukrainian music, which cannot be imagined without him. The first solo songs, as well as piano miniatures, were created by the composer at the age of 14. Lyudkevich paid special attention to solo singing in the 1900s and 1920s. Each of these works has its own story. For example, the word "Do you have more?" became a wedding gift of Lyudkevich to his friend, a public figure and, by the way, the author of the poetic text of the soloist Volodymyr Starosolsky and his wife.

The solo songs "Taina" and "I'll go, run away" were created by Lyudkevich for the legendary singer Oleksandra Lyubich-Parakhoniak. The first and best performer of the solo song "Cheremoshe, my brother" was Modest Mentsynskyi. And "Ukrainian Barcarola" was written by Lyudkevich for the girls' choir of the music school of the Russian Institute in Przemyśl. Nowadays, this work is better known in the performance of the Bayko sisters.
