On January 19, at 7 pm, the concert "Handel. Dixit Dominus" will be held at Lviv Organ Hall.
The brilliant and light music of George Frideric Handel in the unsurpassed performance of the Trembita Choir is a real gift for the winter holidays. "Dixit Dominus" was composed by 21-year-old Handel to the words of Psalm 110, which begins with the same words ("Thus said the Lord").
The work for five soloists, a five-voice choir and a chamber orchestra combines features of several genres: cantata, oratorio, choral cycle, etc. Written in Italy, it absorbed life-affirming light, brilliance and lightness, which organically combined with the achievements of the German school of composition with its thoroughness and arithmetic accuracy.
