“Barvinsky, Lysenko, Kosenko” is created to popularize the Ukrainian piano tradition.
A concert of piano music by Ukrainian composers was included in the debut release of pianist Roksoliana Pidchekha and the independent label Golka Records. The concert features arrangements of folk songs by the Ukrainian romantic composer Mykola Lysenko, whose work influenced subsequent generations of musicians. In particular, on the Galician wide known composer Vasyl Barvinskyi, whose fate marked professional successes and great grief. Lysenko’s influence can also be noticed in the work of one of the most influential composers of the 20th century Viktor Kosenko.
