LISFF Wiz-Art is an annual international short film festival held in Lviv. The festival was founded by the artistic formation Wiz-Art, which was established in 2008. In 2017, LISFF celebrated its 10th anniversary. Each year, the team selects a new theme that reflects current societal issues and creates original visual designs inspired by it.
The festival showcases over 100 of the freshest short films from around the world every year. The Lviv International Short Film Festival is a powerful cultural and educational platform that connects Ukrainian and international filmmakers and introduces Ukrainian audiences to the work and experience of industry professionals.
Competition Program
Short films from all over the world take part in the competition program. Filmmakers from any country can submit their works. In addition to the competition section, audiences also have the opportunity to watch films screened out of competition. Besides the Grand Prix—the festival’s top award—main prizes are given in three categories: Best Screenplay in the International Competition, Best Directing in the International Competition, and Best Ukrainian Film. Additional awards include Special Mentions from the Jury and the Audience Award.
Jury
The festival jury is selected by the festival's management. It usually includes several international guests and at least one representative of Ukrainian cinema—typically professional directors, video artists, or producers.
