  • The uniqueness of this museum is that it is the first and currently the only museum of glass in Ukraine.

     

    The first room of the museum is devoted to the historical glass. It is represented by the glass, which is either manufactured in Western Ukraine , or existed in this region. Since ancient objects - glass vessels and beads made ​​in 1-2 tbsp. BC in the Roman colonies in the south of modern Ukraine . The Museum of glass you can see the dishes ( Viva bowls ) from which they drank once wealthy nobles in XVII - XVIII.
    Presented and glass twentieth century ( articles from Lviv Stry ). The second part of the museum is devoted to the modern period and the collection of the International Symposium of Art Glass, taking place in Lviv, starting in 1989, every three years. Symposium was attended by over 200 artists from 29 countries . The exhibition presents works by artists from France , Japan, Hungary, UK, USA, Ukraine , Poland, Lithuania , Latvia, Estonia , Slovakia, Russia , Belarus , Portugal, Spain, Australia , Austria, Germany and Finland. They were made ​​by the authors in Lviv.
    In addition, the Glass Museum is housed in a vault Palazzo Bandinelli. Once it was one of the richest houses Sq. The market, which was owned by Italian Roberto Bandinelli. It was at his house , he opened the first post in Lviv. After visiting the museum, you will be able to view and cellars of the house. Interestingly , the last room of the museum - a dungeon under the sidewalk ( only in Lviv dungeons beneath the sidewalk , which is available for inspection at the time).
