  • Leopold Levytsky Artistic and Memorial Museum. The exposition consists of the memorial part, and also represents the creative career of the artist from the time of studying at Krakow Academy to the last days of his life.

Lviv National Museum possesses the largest collection of the artist’s works – over 6500 storage items most of which were presented to the museum by his wife Henya. Owing to this extraordinary woman the museum staff obtained the artist’s archive: letters, manuscripts, documents, and other materials of inestimable value for studying the work and personality of Leopold Levytsky. It was she who stood in the centre of popularization of Levytsky’s name after his death, and near the end of her life she bequeathed the artist’s creative heritage and his archive to the National Museum.

Leopold Levytsky Museum was founded in 1984 and is situated in the building where he lived and worked from 1946 to 1973. The exposition is based on the peculiarities of the artist’s working environment – the flat’s interior, personal belongings, and part of the artistic heritage.
